This Privacy Policy describes how the Military GPS Survival Kit mobile application ("the App"), developed by Alfarays.com ("we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use our App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

The App does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal contact information. The App collects the following categories of data to provide its core functionality:

1. Precise Location Data

The App collects your precise GPS location (latitude, longitude, and altitude) to provide its core features, including:

◦ Displaying your position on maps;
◦ Showing your altitude, speed, and traveled distance;
◦ Providing weather information for your current location;
◦ Finding nearby medical facilities, police stations, and health care services;
◦ Displaying nearby cell tower information;
◦ Providing fire and wildfire alerts in your area;
◦ Reverse geocoding (converting coordinates to addresses);
◦ Retrieving elevation data.

Location data may be collected while the App is in the foreground or background (if background location is enabled). Your location coordinates are transmitted to the third-party services listed in the "Third-Party Services" section below to deliver these features.

2. Device Identifier

The App collects your device's vendor identifier (a unique identifier assigned to your device by Apple) for the purpose of managing fire alert notification subscriptions. This identifier is not used to track you across other apps or websites.

3. Crash Data and Diagnostics

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to automatically collect crash reports and diagnostic information. This data may include:

◦ Crash logs and stack traces;
◦ Device model and operating system version;
◦ Application state at the time of a crash;
◦ Device orientation and free memory/disk space.

This information is used solely to identify and fix bugs and improve App stability. Crash data is sent to Google's servers and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Usage Data (Analytics)

The App uses Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to collect anonymized usage data about how you interact with the App. This includes:

◦ Which tabs and sections of the App you visit;
◦ Which tactical tools you use;
◦ Which handbooks you view.

This data does not include any personally identifiable information and is used solely to understand how the App is used and to improve its features. Analytics data is sent to Google's servers and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Push Notification Token

If you opt in to receive push notifications, the App collects your device push notification token. This token is used exclusively to deliver fire alert notifications and news updates to your device.

6. In-App Purchase Information

The App offers in-app purchases and subscriptions managed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment or financial information. All purchase transactions are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We only store your subscription status locally on your device to unlock premium features.

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties:

◦ Photos and Videos - Photos and videos captured using the App's camera features (including night vision, binoculars, and compass camera) are stored on your device only.
◦ Sensor Data - Data from your device's accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, barometer, and other sensors is processed locally and never leaves your device.
◦ Map Markers and Waypoints - Any markers, waypoints, or saved locations you create are stored locally on your device.
◦ Offline Map Tiles - Downloaded map tiles for offline use are cached on your device.
◦ App Preferences - Your settings and preferences (time format, units, etc.) are stored locally.
◦ Location History - GPS track logs and location history are stored locally on your device.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services that may receive your data (primarily location coordinates) to provide functionality:

◦ Google Maps & Google Places - Map display, elevation queries, and geocoding. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
◦ Mapbox - Map display, search, and offline map tiles. Mapbox may collect anonymized telemetry data. Governed by Mapbox's Privacy Policy.
◦ Firebase (Google) - Crash reporting (Crashlytics) and usage analytics. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
◦ OpenWeatherMap - Weather data based on your location. Governed by OpenWeather's Privacy Policy.
◦ OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) - Reverse geocoding (converting coordinates to addresses). Governed by OpenStreetMap Foundation's Privacy Policy.
◦ Amazon Web Services (AWS) - Backend services for health care facility and crime index data lookups. Your location coordinates (as bounding box parameters) are sent to retrieve relevant data.

How We Use the Information We Collect

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

◦ App Functionality - To provide core features such as GPS navigation, maps, weather, nearby facilities lookup, fire alerts, and cell tower information.
◦ App Improvement - To analyze crash reports and usage patterns to fix bugs and improve the App.
◦ Notifications - To deliver fire alert notifications and news updates if you have opted in.

We do not use any collected data for advertising, user profiling, or tracking across other apps and websites.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your data is shared only with the third-party service providers listed above, solely to provide the App's functionality. We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

Data Retention

◦ Location data transmitted to third-party services is not stored by us on our own servers beyond what is necessary to complete the request.
◦ Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics data is retained according to Google's data retention policies.
◦ Your device identifier and push notification token are stored on our fire alert servers for as long as you have the App installed and notifications enabled.
◦ All locally stored data (photos, markers, settings, map tiles) remains on your device until you delete the App or clear its data.

Your Choices and Control

You have control over the data the App collects:

◦ Location Access - You can revoke location access at any time through your device's Settings > Privacy > Location Services. Note that many App features require location access to function.
◦ Camera and Microphone - You can revoke camera and microphone access through your device's Settings at any time.
◦ Push Notifications - You can disable notifications through your device's Settings > Notifications.
◦ Delete Local Data - You can delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the App.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Information Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information transmitted by the App. Sensitive data such as your user identifier is stored securely in the iOS Keychain. Network communications with third-party services use HTTPS encryption where available. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States, where our third-party service providers (such as Google, AWS, and Mapbox) operate. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
