Car Inclineometer - Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Alfarays.com (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Car Inclineometer mobile application (“the App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Use

The App is designed to measure your vehicle's pitch and roll angles using your device's built-in sensors. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect personal information such as your name or email address. The data described below is used solely to operate the App's features on your device.

1. Motion & Orientation Data
The App reads your device's accelerometer and gyroscope (via CoreMotion) to calculate pitch, roll, and azimuth angles in real time. This data is processed entirely on-device and is never stored or transmitted anywhere.

2. Location Data
With your permission, the App accesses GPS to display driving-relevant information on screen, including:
◦ Current speed (km/h or mph)
◦ Altitude
◦ Compass bearing and heading direction
◦ GPS satellite count and accuracy

Location data is processed on-device. Your coordinates are also used to fetch the ambient temperature from the open-source weather API open-meteo.com. Only latitude and longitude are sent in that request — no personal identifier accompanies it. You may deny location permission; the core inclinometer functionality (pitch and roll) will continue to work without it.

3. Local Storage
The App stores a small amount of data locally on your device using iOS's standard UserDefaults, including:
◦ Whether you have skipped the “How to Use” screen
◦ Whether your landscape mode subscription has been verified

This data never leaves your device.

In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

The App offers an optional Inclinometer Pro monthly subscription that unlocks landscape mode. All purchase transactions are processed and managed entirely by Apple's App Store using StoreKit. We do not collect, process, or store your payment information. We only receive confirmation of your subscription status (active or expired) to unlock the landscape mode feature, and that status is cached locally on your device.

Data We Do Not Collect

To be explicit, the App does not collect any of the following:

◦ Names, email addresses, or any contact information
◦ Device identifiers or advertising IDs
◦ Crash reports or analytics events
◦ Usage statistics or behavioral data
◦ Photos, videos, or microphone input
◦ Any data transmitted to our own servers — we operate none

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services that may handle data as described in their respective privacy policies:

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. The only data that leaves your device is your approximate coordinates sent to Open-Meteo for the temperature reading. We may share information with third parties only in the following circumstances:

◦ Legal Requirements - We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities.
◦ Protection of Rights - We may disclose information when necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Data Retention & Deletion

Because we do not collect or store personal data on any server, there is nothing to delete on our end. All local preferences stored on your device are removed when you uninstall the App.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at contact@alfarays.com and we will promptly address it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated policy on this page and revising the “Effective Date” at the top. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
